There are a number a high-caliber titles this week that I'm going to be picking up myself, including one of my favorite games from 2021 that I was intently keeping an eye out for... Ratchet & Clank: A Rift Apart! There are four colored variants of this 2LP set. We also have Ghost of Tsushima: Iki Island & Legends with five different variants(see below for links), FAR CRY 6, Detroit Become Human Soundtrack Vol. 2, Tiny Tina's Wonderlands(Borderlands spin-off and sequel to Borderlands 2: Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep), the Original Bomberman I & II Soundtracks from the NES, Volume 2 of A Hate In Time and the 90's alternate-history internet parody Hypnospace Outlaw.

The links are below to each of the variants. Make sure to grab any of the limited-releases before they sell-out. We've been asked for a while about an e-mail campaign and we're still working on it. Far Cry 6 (Original Game Soundtrack) 3xLP

Lead composer Pedro Bromfman’s credits include three seasons of Netflix’s Narcos, Need For Speed: Heat and Max Payne 3. Having grown up studying the beautiful and soulful music of the Caribbean and Latin America, he brought his particular experience with stringed Latin instruments to bear on Far Cry 6’s score. Bromfman carefully layers Spanish guitar, Cuban tres, Bolivian ronroco and more atop oppressive dark ambient and percussive elements, creating music that evokes a nuanced blend of sadness, anger and hope — contrasting the menace of El Presidente with the spirit of the guerrillas.

The vinyl set includes a selection of diegetic and in-game radio tracks that serve to immerse the player in the vibrant setting of Yara. This in-world body of music is lead by two exceptional composers: Cuban-Canadian jazz master Hilario Duran created faithful Afro-Caribbean street ensemble pieces; while composer-producer Ariel Contreras-Esquivel recorded a real military band for his fictional national anthem “Himno Nacional Yarano” and other militaristic marches.

It was a priority for the Far Cry 6 music team to truthfully represent the latino spirit, and highlight authentic Latin American and Afro-Latin artists from off the beaten path. Venezuelan rapper Gabylonia (with backing by Peruvian producer Rilabeats) contributes “Camino Revolucionario” and “Carta al Tirano”, the latter performed during the chaotic in-game Máximas Matanzas hip-hop show. American-Puerto Rican emcee from Brooklyn Nitty Scott lays down the law with hip-hop track “Pelo”; Qbanoamerikano Pico pays tribute to Buena Vista Social Club with “Cuba Linda”; singer Diana Fuentes and rapper El Micha, both Cuban, performed pop number “Canción Bonita”; while Cuban reggaetón star El Chacal brings the party with “Talento Y Dinero”.

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands (Original Soundtrack) 2xLP

Laced Records (true neutral at best) continues its fantastical journey with fellow party members Gearbox Entertainment (chaotic good, naturally) to give the epiiiiiiiiiic music of Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands the wondrous wax treatment.

This Limited Edition double LP set features ‘dragon blood’ and ‘Tiny Teal-a’ galaxy-effect discs. Forged by Butt Stallion’s finest sonic smithy, 23 tracks have been sprinkled with aural pixie dust and carefully pressed onto heavyweight vinyl. The deluxe double gatefold sleeve with metallic pink foil features artwork by the masterful artists at Gearbox.

In-house Gearbox composer Joshua Carro brought his globe-trotting, experimental creative background to bear on the chaotic realms of the Wonderlands. The score briefly threatens more traditional fantasy fare, coaxing the listener in with big, bright celebrational themes; before twisting and turning, stealing listeners away to unexpected places. Unusual, unsettling rhythms and textures are woven together to create a dense and sophisticated sound world, where one can hear strands of Minimalism, Folk, Rock, Generative, IDM, Drone, World, Romanticism, Aleatoric, Modern, and Noise Music. Strange uses of percussion, piano, synths, strings and more intrude like grimdark messengers, as Carro charts a new course both for soundtracks in the Borderlands® universe and for fantasy video games.
