Welcome to our 2018 Original Game Score of the Year Awards.  This year, we reviewed over 120 Video Game Soundtracks and listed below you'll find the five nominees we've selected, as well as our winner for this year. If you're new to our website and unfamiliar with our awards, we create annual videos showcasing a sample of at least five tracks from our selected nominees. Included in our videos are related game clips, proper track titles, composers, release date and the title of the video game the music was written for on an overlay. It takes a lot of time to properly research, review and compare these soundtracks. Our criteria is that the soundtracks must be original compositions and not a remix or rearrangement of any type. The soundtracks must also have a release date between October 2017 and October 2018—this gives us time to complete the long editing process by January. We hope every year to give video game music, it's composers, vocalists and musicians, the recognition they deserve.

This year, we've added the categories of Orchestral and Instrumental Track of the Year in addition to Vocal Track of the Year, Electronic Track of the Year and Rock Track of the Year we included in 2017. As we've stated last year, we wanted to find a way to honor some of the tracks that may not have made it into our selection for Original Game Score of the Year but stand out among their own genre. We created a video for each category following the same creation process as our Original Game Score of the Year video: sample of the chosen tracks, display video clips from the featured video game, place proper credits on the overlays, and the winner is revealed at the end of the video.
