Mario Hoops 3on3(also known as Mario Basketball 3on3) was developed by Square-Enix and was released for the Nintendo DS in 2006; the game has also just become available recently for the Wii U via digital download for $9.99. The music for the game was written and arranged by Masayoshi Soken from Square-Enix. The soundtrack was released only in Japan and is increasingly becoming an out-of-stock item from Japanese outlets such as PlayAsia, YesAsia, ect. And while you can find a used copy or two on ebay, they're going for about $70-80 a pop.
The Official CD Release for Mario Hoops is slightly enhanced from the game version, the instruments and vocals are clearer compared to the muffled nature that the small Nintendo DS speakers produce. How is it? The Mario Basketball soundtrack is definitely a catchy one. The arrangements are quite unique to the Mario World. If you're looking for something with fun vocal tracks and remixes of some classic Mario tunes.. I think you'll enjoy it.
