Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle Soundtrack
Finally finished Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle and I very much enjoyed the game. Being a big fan of both Valkyria Chronicles and XCOM, I knew I'd pick this up as soon as it was announced. It took me about 40 hours to complete the story mode and with limited time to I have to chip away at games anymore, I'm glad I saw it through to completion. The reason I'm posting this is that the music in Mario + Rabbids is composed by the great Grant Kirkhope and the original score is simply enjoyable. It carries a whimsical Disneyesque sound and for a game comparison, it reminds me of 2015's Ratchet & Clank remake for the PS4(which is fantastic by the way). It also throws a few surprise tunes I didn't expect in this sort of game; I don't want to spoil anything so if you make it to the end of the Spooky/Halloween Stage.. you'll know what I'm referring to. If you want to hear a few of my favorite tracks they are: Tower Tweeter, Mid-Boss Mayhem, Exploring the Mine, the Bowser tracks and essentially all of the Halloween tracks.
It's also worth mentioning that the site iam8bit.com is releasing a special 2xLP Translucent Vinyl with all kinds of little extras and it includes a digital download of the soundtrack as well. The vinyl cost $40 and begins shipping Q3 of this year so if you're interested, head over there and check it out.
